Do I need to understand Australian Standards to use Standara?+
No. Standara does the heavy lifting for you. When you select an asset, the relevant standard references, task descriptions, and recommended frequencies are generated automatically. You get a compliant maintenance plan without needing to read a single standards document.
Can I manage more than one building?+
Yes. Standara supports multiple sites, each with its own independent asset register, PPM planner, and callout log. Switch between sites from the Manage Sites screen.
Is this only for commercial buildings?+
No. Standara works for any building type: commercial offices, retail, residential strata, community facilities, industrial, healthcare, and education. If the building has assets that require scheduled maintenance, Standara can plan it.
How is this different from using a spreadsheet?+
A spreadsheet doesn't know which standards apply to your assets, doesn't generate task descriptions or frequencies, and can't produce professional reports. Standara automates all of this: select your assets and your entire PPM plan is built instantly, mapped to the correct AS/NZS references.
How is Standara different from a CMMS?+
A CMMS is typically built around contractor dispatch and work-order management, with the contractor at the centre of the workflow. Standara is built the other way round. You generate the PPM plan, you hold the asset register, you close out the work. Contractors execute against your scope, not theirs. Standara plans and tracks; a CMMS dispatches. Different jobs, often complementary.
What happens to my data?+
Your data is protected in layers. Sign-in uses encrypted authentication hosted in Australia. Documents you upload are stored in a private, access-controlled bucket only you can reach. Your site registers are saved to your account and synced to Australian-hosted cloud storage, so they are available whenever you sign in, on any device. Export to PDF, Excel, CSV, or JSON at any time, and your data stays yours.
What happens during a Capture engagement?+
A short scoping call first, then we walk your site and capture every maintainable asset: nameplate details, location, condition and photographs. Your register, PPM planner and reports are built and verified in Standara, and we walk your team through the handover. Most single-site engagements are delivered within two to three weeks of the site visit.
What do you need from us on the day?+
Access and a site contact. An hour of your facility or duty manager's time for the walk-through briefing, keys or an escort for plant rooms and roof areas, and any existing records you'd like reconciled, such as old registers, AFSS schedules or contractor reports. We handle the rest.
What does a Capture engagement cost?+
Every engagement is scoped to the building: size, location, asset count and complexity all drive the effort involved, so we don't publish a rate card. You receive a fixed, itemised quote after a short scoping call, with no obligation.
Who actually does the capture?+
A practising facility manager, not a data-entry contractor. Standara Capture is a consultancy service provided by Hunter Facilities & Project Management Pty Ltd, with site work led by Robert Hunter, who has 25+ years managing capital works and facilities for some of Australia's most recognisable operators.
Can I try it before subscribing?+
Absolutely. The interactive demo lets you explore a fully loaded demo site with a complete asset register, PPM planner, reactive callouts, and contractor assignments, no sign-up required. Just click "Explore the Demo" to get started.
